F.A.Q

Microton

WHY DON’T MORE BUSINESSES RECYCLE?
Answer :

Basically, this is due to lack of education. The office products remanufacturing industry has been in existence for about 15 years. But we are working diligently to educate consumers about the value of remanufactured cartridges and the advancement the industry has made in the improved technology of remanufacturing cartridges. Through public relations campaigns, local, state and federal legislation, more and more users are realizing the added value and comparable quality of remanufactured cartridges.

WILL USING REMANUFACTURED TONER CARTRIDGES VOID MY EQUIPMENT WARRANTY?
Answer :

Law prohibits manufacturers from voiding their warranty obligations on the grounds that a consumer did not use the original manufacturer’s replacement cartridge.

WHAT IF I EXPERIENCE A PRINT QUALITY ISSUE?
Answer :

If a cartridge does not meet expectations, simply notify a customer service representative and return
the cartridge and a page sample showing the print quality problem in the box it came in – Return it for evaluation and replacement. Please refer to our Product Warranty for details.

IS A REMANUFACTURED CARTRIDGE INFERIOR TO A NEW ONE?
Answer :

There should be no difference in print quality or page yield with a properly remanufactured cartridge. Our cartridges contain only quality toners that work well with the OPC Drum and other replacement parts to meet OEM performance.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
Answer :

A typical production process includes inspection and replacement of key components as needed such as the OPC (Organic Photo Conductor) Drum, wiper blade, PCR (Primary Charge Roller) and magnetic roller. One of the most critical parts of a cartridge is the OPC Drum. New aftermarket drums are made specifically for remanufacturers to have a harder and more durable surface than the OEM cartridge. We use only new drums in our cartridges to OEM equivalent results

WHAT IS A REMANUFACTURED CARTRIDGE?
Answer :

Remanufactured cartridges have been recycled and reprocessed from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) empty core. The process differs by manufacturer and materials used with varying results in quality and page yields. Our remanufactured cartridges are produced to stringent quality control standards, using lab-tested components to ensure consistent OEMequivalent performance.

I’ve tried selling compatibles in the past and my customers were not impressed with the quality. Should I bother trying to sell them again?
Answer :

The remanufacturing industry has made great strides in improving overall quality. When the industry was in its infancy, there was little or no technical training available, and replacement parts were either impossible to find or of poor quality due to patent issues.
Recently, however, the quality of replacement parts has improved dramatically, and larger remanufacturers, such as MKG, have gained a level of expertise in engineering that has allowed us to make dramatic improvements to our overall quality. The result of this expertise is a remanufactured product that is favourably comparable to the OEM in yield and print quality. The quality difference between OEM and MKG remanufactured cartridges has in effect disappeared. MKG is also ISO 9001:2000 certified, ensuring consistent quality cartridge to cartridge.

Add to that the cost-savings to you, the dealer, and the business advantage to selling remanufactured cartridges is clear!

Are there environmental benefits to recycling cartridges?
Answer :

Yes. The average new laser toner cartridge contains approximately 2 1/2 to 3 pounds of new plastics. Reusing the plastic cores of these cartridges keeps this material from ending up in landfill sites. Over MKG’s more than 15 years in the remanufacturing industry, we have diverted more than 15 million pounds of waste material from landfill.

What is a compatible cartridge?
Answer :

A compatible cartridge is a cartridge that is manufactured by someone other than the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Compatibles are designed to work in the same way as the original cartridge. Compatibles offer a sound economical and environmentally friendly alternative to ex-pensive OEM cartridge.

Do compatible cartridge offer the same yield as OEM cartridge?
Answer :

Microton regularly benchmarks cartridge against the OEM for yield, and only uses OEM quality toner. Our Quality Department has set strict guidlines for all cartridge, and will never release a product that does not compare favourably to the OEM. As a result, you will find that Microton cartridge offer the same yield, and in some cases a better yield, than the OEM
